Handover reports are carried out on newly completed homes, buildings or additions. This type of report tis invaluable and provides the home owner with a comprehensive list of defects which are then handed over to the builder prior to occupancy. It is considered important to have this type of inspection undertaken prior to moving in as scratches or broken inclusions may be deemed wear and tear.
Defects are determined from a distance of 1.5meters and in normal natural light as described in Guide to Standard and Tolerances- 2007.
Common defects found are paint over runs, scratches to glass, damage to aluminium window frames and doors, walls built out of plumb, defective sill and cavity flashings bulging plasterboard poor surface water drainage and many more.
Sadly, you as the purchaser are usually subject to the builders interpretation of what is satisfactory workmanship. We will ensure your building work or home complies with the correct quality control and industry standards you deserve.
