Dilapidation Reports

What is a dilapidation report?

This type of inspection report is designed to investigate and record the current condition of a building.  It is usually commissioned prior to and after building or civil works on neighbouring properties.

Should I have a dilapidation report prepared?

If you own a building neighbouring or adjacent to construction work involving heavy machinery, excavations, infrastructure works, tunnels etc., a dilapidation report is a must have document should defects and damage occur as a result of such works.

Alternatively for construction and civil works, contractors it is an insurance policy to ensure the works have not caused cracks and defects to neighbouring buildings.  Dilapidation reports are carried out prior to and after construction works.

At Premier Building Reports, our dilapidation reports provide independent expert evidence in a comprehensive written report supported by photographic records.  They are regularly used by civil and commercial construction companies in order to protect their interests should a claim arise from a neighbouring property.
